The power of the media

The NKF vs SPH lawsuit may have its desired result.

The media (SPH) wrote about excessive payment of charity's CEO. Charity felt that it was a slander and sued the media. Court case and the media (SPH) ran big stories on it. The people protested. Charity's CEO and board resigned. Media and people won...

But if we look back at events leading to the story that is the crux of this lawsuit, it does raises interesting speclation why the story was written in the first place.
